By W. Michael Farmer

In the vast and unforgiving wilderness of the American Southwest, there lived a tribe of Indians known as the Comanche. They were fierce warriors, skilled hunters, and masters of the unforgiving terrain. For centuries, they ruled the Southern Plains, raiding and plundering their enemies with impunity.

But in the mid-19th century, the Comanche's way of life was threatened by the relentless advance of white settlers. As the buffalo herds dwindled and their traditional hunting grounds were encroached upon, the Comanche were forced to fight for their survival.

One man who witnessed the Comanche's struggle firsthand was W. Michael Farmer. A young surveyor from Texas, Farmer was captured by the Comanche in 1858. He spent the next two years living among them, learning their language and customs. During this time, he also witnessed their incredible hunting skills.

After his release, Farmer returned to Texas and wrote a book about his experiences, entitled "Hunting Comancheria." The book is a fascinating and detailed account of the Comanche's way of life, and it provides a unique glimpse into their world.

Farmer describes the Comanche as "the most dangerous game in North America." They were skilled warriors who were always ready for a fight. They were also expert hunters who could track and kill their prey with incredible accuracy.

Farmer's book is full of thrilling stories about hunting with the Comanche. He describes how they would stalk their prey for hours, using their keen eyesight to track its movements. When they finally got close enough, they would launch their attack with deadly precision.

Farmer also witnessed the Comanche's remarkable survival skills. They were able to live off the land, using their knowledge of plants and animals to find food and shelter. They were also expert horsemen who could travel long distances across the unforgiving terrain.

Hunting Comancheria is a thrilling and informative account of one man's journey into the heart of the American wilderness. It is a must-read for anyone interested in the history of the American West, or in the culture of the Comanche Indians.
